A former Mayor of Ennis claims refurbishing six derelict houses on Francis Street in Ennis is not a viable option.
It comes ahead of a demonstration in the county town tomorrow calling for the homes to be repurposed for human habitation particularly in light of the housing crisis.

Provisionally the six unoccupied dwellings are set to be demolished to make way for a temporary car park under the Ennis 2040 plan.
However Clarecastle-based Fine Gael Councillor Paul Murphy believes the houses need to be knocked and treated as a greenfield site.
