Former Ennis Chamber CEO To Be Co-Opted Onto Clare County Council

A West Clare business owner is set to be co-opted onto Clare County Council.

Former Ennis Chamber CEO Rita McInerney has been chosen by a Fianna Fáil convention to fill the seat vacated by Councillor Bill Chamber, following the veteran Cooraclare representative’s resignation from politics last month.

McInerney is the proprietor of McInerney’s Shop in Doonbeg and unsuccessfully contested the 2020 General Election for Fianna Fáil, receiving just under 7% of the vote share.
