The Bishop Emeritus of Killaloe has described the late Cardinal Desmond Connell as a “broken man”.
Dr Connell passed away yesterday at the age of 90, following a long illness.
The Taoiseach has led tributes to him saying he had a long and distinguished academic career and while his time as Archbishop was controversial, he’s recognised for his desire for holiness, his gentleness and humility of character.
