Sean Fitzpatrick, the former chairman of Anglo Irish Bank has been arrested at Dublin airport this morning as part of an investigation into alleged financial irregularities at a financial institution.
He was detained by Gardaí attached to the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement as he arrived back into the country.

It’s part of an ongoing investigation by Gardaí from the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation and the ODCE.
Mr Fitzpatrick, who’s in his 60’s, is expected to appear at the Courts of Criminal Justice in Dublin later this morning.
