Minister Charlie Flanagan is due before the Oireachtas Petitions Committee, which has been examining the legal implications of the American military's use of Shannon since they were asked to do so by a group of anti-war campaigners.

As part of this, a Committee delegation travelled to Shannon last year.

Evidence has also been heard from the likes of Shannonwatch, the Transport Minister and officials in the Department of Foreign Affairs.
