The Foreign Affairs Minister says ‘broader supports’ for communities in Clare accommodating Ukrainian refugees are needed.
Around 3,000 people from the war-torn state are estimated to be in this county, with the Ennistymon electoral area accommodating one of the highest cohorts in the country.
Minister Simon Coveney is to visit Ennis this evening, where he will be addressing a seminar on the formation of the state and reflecting on the role Clare has played in the country’s progression in the past century.
Speaking with Clare FM’s Morning Focus, he’s commending this county for its role in assisting those from Ukraine, but says further supports will need to be administered to continue doing that.
