A Clare government representative says it’s a fool’s errand to establish the new Shannon Estuary Economic Taskforce without representation from Clare County Council.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar yesterday announced the membership of the Taskforce which will assess the strategic strengths of the Estuary and scope out potential economic opportunities for the area.
The group is comprised of academics and local businesses associates as well as representatives from Shannon Group and the Shannon Foynes Port Company.
However, Mountshannon Fianna Fáil Senator Timmy Dooley thinks it’s a huge mistake not to include Clare County Council given their involvement in the Shannon Integrated Framework plan.
