Flood Relief Centres Would Be “Very Welcome” In At-Risk Clare Communities

It’s predicted that designated relief centres will be “very welcome” in Clare communities prone to flooding.

Minister of State Kevin “Boxer” Moran has proposed establishing centres at key locations nationwide where food, generators and other vital equipment can be distributed.

A number of flood relief schemes are at various stages in Clare at present including at Springfield in Clonlara which it’s understood is on the verge of completion.

Clonlara Independent Councillor Michael Begley says these amenities should be up-and-running in advance of extreme weather events.
