Flights Diverted To Shannon Following Fire At Dublin Airport

Delays continue at Dublin Airport, after a fire in a hangar there saw all flights grounded for over an hour this morning.

Six inbound services were forced to divert to Shannon, as fire crews battled the blaze.

No-one was injured in the incident, but thousands of people saw their travel plans disrupted.

Shannon welcomed well over 1,000 extra visitors as a result of this morning's disruption.

Passengers travelling from Abu Dhabi with Etihad, Ryanair services from the UK and a Aer Lingus transatlantic flights all divered there.

Services at Shannon are now back to normal.

Its Director of Operations Niall Moloney has told Clare FM that it was a seamless operation.
