The Air Transat service was travelling from Paris Charle de Gaulle to Montreal with over 300 passengers on board and was south of Ireland when it diverted to Shannon because a French passenger had allegedly become unruly.

Upon landing, the man in his mid-fifties was detained and taken to Shannon Garda Station, while the flight resumed its journey shortly afterwards.
