Just a week after Loop Head was named as the best place to holiday in Ireland, five Clare towns have now been short-listed for a Failte Ireland Tourism Award.

Ennis, Kilrush, Kilkee, Mountshannon and Tuamgraney are among 45 areas in the running for the Tourism Town Award, which is designed to recognise the role of the community in enhancing an area’s tourism appeal.
The Top Ten will be announced at the National Tidy Towns Awards later this year, with the overall winner unveiled in November
