Fine Gael TD Defends Taoseach’s Leadership

The Independent Alliance is due to meet around now after suggesting they have a problem voting confidence in the Government they are a part of, in the Dáil tonight.

The group’s reportedly unhappy with the Taoiseach’s performance in the Dáil last night when Enda Kenny again appeared to be at odds with the Children’s Minister over who knew what and when about the allegations of a smear campaign against Sergeant Maurice McCabe.

They’d hoped to raise their concerns at a Cabinet meeting this morning – but that’s now been postponed until tomorrow.

The Independent Alliance say that must be rescheduled and they’re also seeking a meeting with the Taoiseach.

Clare’s Fine Gael TD has defended the Taoiseach, saying Enda Kenny has done good job in a very difficult time.

Joe Carey says decisions on changes to leadership should be made in an orderly fashion, and he believes now is not the time for that.
