Senator Martin Conway has also suggested that Enda Kenny could stay on as Taoiseach, while handing over the reigns as party leader.
The Taoiseach has previously indicated that he won't lead the party into the next election but questions over the stability of the current Government have arisen following a row over rent caps last week.
Despite strong disagreement with Fianna Fáil, Senator Conway believes the current Government could still last up to three years with Enda Kenny as it's leader
