Fine Gael have selected their three sitting Councillors in the Killaloe electoral area to represent the party there in next year’s local elections.
Mayor of Clare Councillor Joe Arkins from Ruan, as well as Councillors Joe Cooney of Bodyke and Pat Burke of Whitegate were all nominated by the party faithful to contest the six-seat electoral area at a meeting inTulla last night.

It remains to be seen whether another named will be added to the ticket, though one Fine Gael source has today said that this is ‘highly unlikely’ at this time.
