Mary Howard is hopeful of running as her party's third candidate in the upcoming general election but no decision has yet been made on who will join Joe Carey and Pat Breen on the ticket.
Councillor Howard says that the delay in making a decision may impact on that candidate's chances of gaining votes.
But she believes she's capable of gaining votes on her own merit rather than relaying on quota.
