Finance minister worried about Spanish borrowing costs

The Finance Minister says the rise in Spain’s borrowing costs creates a further problem for the eurozone and adds to uncertainty.

Michael Noonan made the remarks as Spain’s borrowing costs hit levels, which are close to seeing the country locked out of the bond markets.

Investors in Spain demanded higher interests rates for Spanish bonds, as the yield hit 7 per cent this morning.
