Final Day Before Voting In The Election

It's the final day before voting in the general election. 

The parties and candidates will again out in force hoping to convince people to vote for them.

It's 22 days since Enda Kenny dissolved the Dáil and called a general election – and now just 24 hours away from polling stations opening.

The first votes will be cast later today – as 2,133 people on our islands take to the ballot boxes

The party leaders are busy again with last minute campaign events. 

Gerry Adams will make a direct appeal to young voters. 

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin in canvassing in Cork while the party hold's its final press conference in Dublin. 

Enda Kenny will campaign in Dublin before heading to Longford and Westmeath.

While Tánaiste Joan Burton is also canvassing in the capital. 

Most of the smaller parties ended their campaign events yesterday, with the triple A – People Before Profit holding one final photcall in Dublin. 

It's all ahead of the broadcast moratorium on general election reporting, which comes into effect at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
