The level of overcrowding has spiralled at the region’s main hospital once again.
The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 125 admitted patients waiting for beds at the Dooradoyle facility this morning.

The figure is 50 more than the next busiest facility; Galway University Hospital and comes on a day when 759 patients were left waiting for beds at Irish hospitals.
The INMO is calling on the Health Service Executive to confirm it’s taking all steps to ensure that the provision of safe emergency care is currently the priority in the system.
