Claims that the government is holding back storm repair works in Kilkee are being described as outrageous by Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen.
The county's Fianna Fáil deputy Timmy Dooley says works should've gotten under way on the strand line before now in time for the tourist season.
He's accused the government of deliberating delaying storm repair works in Kilkee in a bid to save money.
Residents and Business people fear the lingering effects of the severe weather will keep tourists away this summer.
Deputy Pat Breen says Deputy Dooley's playing politics:
Clare County Council says it's on track to complete the majority of the repairs in the seaside town by the end of June, with an expected completion date of August for the more significtant works.
Though the government has yet to allocate funding in light of the storm which hit the county's coast on February 1st.
