FF Leader Hits Out At Shannon Business Model

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has criticised the business model of Shannon Airport as 'a race to the bottom.'

Deputy Martin is one of a number of Cork TDs who have expressed concern about falling traffic at the Airport there, and many of those say it has been hurt by the growth at Shannon.

Deputy Martin says Cork is not competitive because it is being held back by the way Ireland's state airports are structured.

He's calling for a re-think in policy, but the government insists Cork has not been downgraded.
