A number of female councillors in Clare are calling on the Minister for Health to improve menopausal care in Ireland.
A recent meeting of representatives has heard that further funding and support is needed for women going through the process.

The average age for the beginning of the condition is in a woman’s early fifties, though in some people it can begin far earlier.
Shannon Sinn Fein Councillor Donna McGettigan, who along with three of her Council colleagues put forward the motion, believes there isn’t enough assistance available here for those who need it.
