February Housing Transactions Hit Eleven-Year-Low In Clare

The number of houses sold in Clare has hit an eleven-year-low for the month of February.

Data released by the Central Statistics Office shows just 40 sales were completed in this county in February which was less than half the figure for the same month last year.

It’s a slow start to 2025 for the housing market in Clare with just 85 units sold in the first two months of the year.

Sales here in February were 51% below 2024 levels with just 40 transactions completed compared to 81 in the same month in 2024.

This is the lowest level of activity in Clare in the month of February since 2014.

The median price of a home in this county in the second month of the year was €271,500 which was down 20% on the previous month but up 6% on the same month last year.

The most expensive houses in Clare continue to be in the Ennis area where the median price of a home has risen by 21% to €314,000 in a 12-month period.

The average price paid for a dwelling in Shannon in February was €220,000 which was down 19% in a year while at €215,000, the Kilrush area saw its average house price drop by 25%.
