Staff at the company’s two plants in Ringaskiddy and Little Island have been called to a meeting with management – at which redundancies are expected to be outlined.

The job losses are due to the expiry of the patent on the cholesterol drug Lipitor, the world’s best-selling pharmaceutical, allowing generic competition into the market.
