Fears Abhaile Scheme Is Failing In Clare

It’s feared a scheme aimed at helping struggling mortgage holders to remain in their homes could be failing in Clare.

The Abhaile scheme, which was announced last October, aims to tackle the mortgage arrears crisis, but only one solicitor in this county has signed up for the scheme and there is no Clare-based duty solicitor in the courts.

The service provides homeowners with vouchers for free financial and legal advice and help from experts, which are available through MABS.
