Fear That Talks Aimed At Averting Nurses Strike Will Be Futile

Fears have been expressed in Clare that talks aimed at averting strike action by nurses will be futile.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is meeting with the HSE this afternoon as part of efforts to resolve the row over pay and recruitment.

Nurses and Midwives are due to stage the first of 6 strikes this day next week, and a meeting of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West has heard that preparations are underway at hospitals to prevent disruption to patients.
