The Romans were able to carry out a census two thousand years ago, but this one won’t go down in history for East Clare.
That’s the view of one local Councillor who’s hit out over ongoing delays in delivering census forms to homes in a number of communities, one month on from Census night.

The CSO says there have been some delays and challenges in a small number of areas and is urging anyone without a form to contact them by phone or email.
Issues first arose due to a lack of enumerators in the area, after which a number of steps were taken including posting out forms, and delivering them by courier.
A number of homes are still waiting though and Maghera Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes says this isn’t acceptable.
