Fear In Clare About Pace Of Filling Vacancies In Mental Health

The Clare-based President of the Irish College of Psychiatrists fears those in distress aren’t getting one-to-one care because of staff shortages in mental health.

It’s after it’s emerged that less than one in ten of the mental health vacancies approved last year have been filled.

The figures, released by the HSE show, that just 21 of the 240 staff promised from a €15 million allocation for mental health last year have been recruited.
