Fear For Clare Commuters With Planned Outsourcing Of Bus Services

A Killaloe executive member of the NBRU fears commuter services from Clare towns into Limerick city could be under threat by outsourcing Bus Éireann services.

The National Bus and Rail Union, as well as SIPTU, is threatening strike action because of the move, which would see 10% of the services outsourced.

It’s led to fears for jobs at the semi-state company, especially on routes linking towns and villages with cities like Limerick, although most of the routes affected are said to be in the Dublin commuter belt area.
