A Feakle native has become the longest living Irish person ever.
Kathleen Snavely nee Hayes celebrated her 113th birthday last month and at midnight became the oldest person every to have been born in Ireland.

Ms Snavely who resides in Syracuse, New York surpassed the previous record set by Annie Scott, who was 113 years and 37 days old when she died in 1996.
Kathleen whose family still resides in Feakle is described by friends as being warm and cheerful and as sharp as a tack.
