Father Of Late Laura Brennan Grateful His Grandchildren Will “Never Hear” Of HPV

The father of the late Laura Brennan has expressed gratitude that his grandchildren will “never hear” of HPV thanks to recent efforts.

It comes as Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has announced that Ireland is on track for decreasing the rate of cervical cancer to four per 100,000 women by 2040.

The HPV vaccine which Laura Brennan strongly advocated protects against the types of HPV that cause approximately 90% of cervical cancers and since the end of August has been free for men of up to 22 years to avail of.

Laura’s father Larry says because Ireland has made such progress regarding screening and vaccine uptake, HPV will soon be a thing of the past.
