A 27 year old man’s been shot dead in Kilrush.
The victim’s body was discovered on the front lawn of a house on O Gorman’s Street at around half ten this morning.
A licensed shotgun was found nearby a short time later.
The scene has been sealed off for forensic examination and the State Pathologist’s office has been notified.
It’s also understood a 24 year old man’s in custody after presenting himself at Kilrush Garda Station shortly after the incident.
