Clare farming representatives say it’s very disappointing that only a small portion of farmers here will be able to avail of a new scheme to conserve their farm Buildings.

600,000 euro has been made available for the Traditional Farm Buildings Scheme, and this has been welcomed by the county’s IFA branch, but annoyance has been expressed that this will only be available to those participating in REPS 4.
Here in Clare, 750 Clare farmers are exiting that program next year, resulting in the loss of a 5 million euro cash injection for the county, and Clare IFA Chairman Andrew Dundass says that’s a big blow.
