Clare farmers will be taking to the streets in Ennis today as part of series of rallies across the country.
Members of the Irish Farmers Association will be highlighting the importance of commercial farming to the rural economy in demonstrations in county towns, with farmers marching from Clare Marts on the Quin Road this morning.
They say negotiations on the next bloc of Common Agricultural Policy funding in Europe, as well as the ongoing Climate Action Bill, could have ‘significant repercussions’ for the industry into the future.
