Fall In Number On Live Register In Clare

There’s been a further fall in the number of people signing on the live register in Clare.

Falls were recorded throughout the county in May, especially outside of Ennis, with North Clare in particular breaching a notable landmark.

940 people are currently drawing the dole in North Clare, eighty less than at the end of April.

It’s also the first time since October 2010 that this figure was under 1,000.

All areas of Clare experienced reductions in the unemployment indicator last month – there was a fall of 70 in West Clare, 2 in the East of the county and of 14 in the greater Ennis area.

The total number of people isgning on is now 6,002.

This is 13.9% less than at the same time last year.
