Failte Ireland Says Fleadh Is A Unique Opportunity For Ennis

As the countdown to Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann continues, Failte Ireland say it's a unique opportunity to showcase Co. Clare.

Businesses throughout the town and county are gearing up for a busy week, with up to 400,000 people set to descend on Ennis across the nine days.

Final preperations are being made ahead of the world's largest Irish traditional music festival, which kicks off this coming weekend.

President Michael D. Higgins will be on hand to conduct the official opening of the festival on Sunday

It returns to Ennis next year, but it's hoped that the exposure received by the town and county will encourage many to return in the years to come.

Client Services Manager for the Wild Atlantic Way, Michael Fitzsimons insists Clare is well placed to do just that. 

Meanwhile, with many festival-goers set to travel to Ennis by train, Iarnroid Eireann claims its satisfied it will have the capacity to deal with the influx.

Spokesman Barry Kenny says additional staff will also be drafted in to ensure everything runs smoothly.
