Failte Ireland says benefits or othewise of London 2012 not yet clear

Failte Ireland says it’s too early to say if tourism in Ireland will benefit or suffer because of the Olympic Games in London.

The group says it’s been a mixed season for the tourism industry – hotels and businesses in large towns and cities have performed well – but small, rural areas have found it difficult.

It’s not yet clear if a viral campaign to attract British people to Ireland during the Olympics has had much success.
