Extremely High ED Attendances Prompt Fresh Call For Urgent Govt Commitment On Ennis A&E

Fresh calls are being made for an urgent commitment from government to reopen the Ennis Accident & Emergency Unit.

It comes after the INMO recorded 143 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick yesterday, which is the second-highest level of overcrowding ever seen at an Irish hospital.

UHL is currently at its highest state of escalation, and as a result, elective surgeries there, as well as at Ennis, Nenagh and St. John’s have been cancelled today, with only urgent and time-critical patients, including cancer patients going ahead.
