Motorists are being warned of extra Garda checkpoints across Clare’s roads this Bank Holiday weekend.
It comes on a week where the Clare Roads Policing Unit detected a vehicle travelling 138 kilometres per hour on a road with an 80 speed limit near Kilrush.

Three people have died on this county’s roads so far this year, with 123 fatalities across the country.
Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer, Sergeant Triona Brooks, says drivers will be breath tested on this county’s roads this weekend as well.
