Extra checkpoints and a greater Garda presence are set for Clare’s roads this Bank Holiday weekend.
Gardaí are asking motorists to be particularly aware of motorcyclists out and about in the next few days, as they have represented 20 percent of all road fatalities so far this year.

Drivers are being asked to slow down, to ensure they’re wearing seatbelts and are not in possession of a mobile phone while at the wheel.
Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Inspector Paul Slattery of Shannon Garda Station says the enhanced operation will continue in place until Tuesday morning.
