The Russian airline operating a flight that crashed in Egypt claims it was brought down by an external impact that caused it to break up mid-air.
The Deputy Director of the airline, Metrojet, says there must have been an impact that caused the plane to crash, killing all 224 people on board on Saturday.
Alexander Smirnov is putting the catastrophic break up down to external factors, rather than a technical fault.
However, Egyptian authorities examining the plane's black boxes claim the airliner was NOT struck from outside.
The Editor of the news site, EA Worldview, Professor Scott Lucas, says only the black boxes can reveal exactly what happened.
