Extended Preclearance At Shannon Could Increase US-Bound Traffic

The US Embassy in Ireland says extending the preclearance facility at Shannon Airport will help bolster transatlantic travel from the Midwest.

Shannon, along with Dublin, will see the service expanded to include out of hours times, increased staffing and improved officer safety measures.

Preclearance has been in place in Shannon since 2009, when it became the first airport outside of the Americas to offer the service.
