The 36 year old, who had family ties to West Clare, was allegedly beaten to death by another homeless man, 29 year old Ciaran Moran, and set alight on the 28th or 29th of November 2013.

The jury's heard Gerard Donnelly had over 8 thousand euro in cash and 140 thousand in an EBS account, weeks before his death.

Ciaran Moran with a former address at Camden Street in Dublin denies the murder charge.
