Eviction Deadline Extended For Limerick Apartment Residents

A deal has been reached to give tenants of a mid west apartment block more time to find homes – before the units are taken over by a homeless charity.

The Irish Times reports six flats in Fisherman’s Quay development in Limerick are being bought by the Simon Communities.

According to the newspaper the homeless charity found out this week that tenants had been served with eviction notices so the sale could go through.

Following negotiations with those affected and the local authority – social housing tenants will be allowed remain while private renters will be offered assistance to find alternative accommodation.
