Every Effort Being Made To Ensure Survival Of Shannon’s Avara – Breen

Clare’s Junior Minister at the Department of Jobs is reassuring that every effort is being made to ensure the survival of Shannon-based pharmaceuticals firm Avara Pharma.

SIPTU representatives are meeting with the liquidator, as part of a 30-day consultation period, after the company was ordered into provisional liquidation by the High Court.

The company, which manufactures chemicals, including ingredients in medicines, for the pharmaceutical industry employs 115 workers in Shannon.

Minister of State Pat Breen is hopeful that those jobs can be saved.
