Everest conqueror John Burke has been named as the Grand Marshal for this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade in Ennis.
The West Clare hotelier will lead the town’s parade in front of around 10,000 people this March 17th.
The honour has been bestowed on him for becoming the first person from Clare to summit the world’s highest mountain – as well as his work in setting up youth wellness charity Elevate.
