Clare mountaineer, philanthropist and hotelier John Burke has been named the Clare Person of the Year for 2018.
It tops off a mammoth year for the Spanish Point-based man, who became the first Banner native to conquer Mount Everest in May.
He also set up youth wellness charity Elevate with his wife, actress Aoibheann Garrihy, and he follows Caitríona Lucas in being named the award winner.
