Taoiseach Enda Kenny will arrive in Brussels later this evening as EU leaders meet to discuss plans for a comprehensive economic rescue package.
The one-hour gathering of the 27 members will be followed by a much longer session of the 17 leaders of the eurozone countries.

Hopes that a deal would be announced have faded, after a simultaneous meeting of European finance ministers was postponed.
However, Mr Kenny has said the heads of government can’t leave Brussels without an agreement.
Meanwhile, Italian leaders held crunch talks on budget cuts late into the night in a bid to stabilize the Eurozone’s third biggest economy.
