The ESB is warning the public not to swim in any of its reservoirs – including the Ardnacrusha Tailrace Canal in South East Clare.

Bathing in the reservoirs is not permitted due to risk of uneven ground, as well as deep, fast flowing and changing water levels
It comes after a fourth drowning around the country this week
The 19 year old man died in the latest incident at a lake in Strokestown in Co Roscommon yesterday while swimming with friends.
A post mortem examination is being carried out on the body of a 10 year old boy who drowned in Youghal in Co Cork yesterday; whilst two other people drowned in separate incidents in counties Kildare and Limerick earlier in the week.
