Equal Pay And Equal Work Key Concerns At Teacher Conference

The Clare representative on the ASTI’s standing committee says equal pay for equal work will be top of the agenda this afternoon.

Peter Quinn is among around 500 secondary school teachers who have descended on Kilarney for their annual conference, which is getting underway this afternoon.

Its one of three conferences taking place. The INTO and the TUI are also holding their annual conferences this week.

The ASTI is already planning to ballot next month on industrial action in response to a possible redundancy threat to members from September.
