The Friends of the Irish Environment has announced the launch of an international campaign aimed at preventing the construction of a seawall at Donald Trump's Doonbeg golf course.
An online petition which calls on Clare County Council to reject the proposed 2.8 kilometre rock armour at Doughmore Beach, which it says would limit access and destroy the surf break and dune ecosystem.
Save the Waves, which works in partnership with local communities, organisations and governments worldwide is now bringing the cause into the international spotlight.
The planning process is continuing with Clare County Council yet to make a decision on whether the proposed wall will go ahead but Director of FIE, Tony Lowes says they will continue to fight their cause.
